Insurance verification in Denticon
How a front desk on Denticon verifies dental insurance today, and what changes when Stratus does it.
How it works today
Denticon is cloud-based and common in group practices, where one team often verifies for several locations. Active coverage can often be checked electronically; the full breakdown usually still means a portal or a call to the payer, entered into each patient's plan.
Before the appointment, someone at the front desk confirms the patient's coverage is active, then gets the detail that decides what the patient owes: deductible and how much is met, annual maximum and how much is used, coverage by category, frequencies (how often cleanings, exams and X-rays are covered), waiting periods, missing-tooth clauses and the history of what was already done this year.
Active coverage is the easy part. The detail usually means a payer portal, a fax-back or a phone call to the payer, often on hold, and then typing the answers into the patient's record by hand.
How it works with Stratus
- Our AI calls the insurance payer for the practice. We make those calls for you, so there are no phone calls and no portals for the front desk.
- Every breakdown is checked by a real person. Breakdowns are custom: codes, frequencies, limitations and history, not just "active".
- Results are written back into your practice management system, including Denticon, so the front desk sees them where it already works.
