Dental Medicaid eligibility: DentaQuest, MCNA and Michigan CHAMPS

Medicaid and CHIP patients can lose or change coverage month to month, so many offices check them again close to the appointment.

How it works today

Today that usually means logging in to the state or plan portal -- DentaQuest's Medicaid and CHIP portal, MCNA, or Michigan's CHAMPS -- once per patient, confirming eligibility for the date of service, and copying what you find into the patient's record.

Because eligibility can change from one month to the next, a check done a week ahead may not hold on the day, which is why many offices recheck on the day.

Questions

Which Medicaid portals does Stratus check?

DentaQuest's Medicaid and CHIP portal, MCNA, and Michigan's CHAMPS. We check them with your office's own login.

Can Medicaid patients be checked on the day of the appointment?

Yes. Same-day checks are available for the insurances you pick, like Medicaid: those patients are checked on the day of the appointment.

Where do the results go?

Results are written back into your practice management system, and every breakdown is checked by a real person.

How do we try it?
